Milnerton Tennis Club boasts a storied history dating back to 1922, when the local community first began to flourish. It all began on November 11th, 1921, when Mrs. F. Botha applied for a plot of land on behalf of residents to build two tennis courts, highlighting the early popularity of the sport in the area, despite its modest population. The inaugural meeting held on March 22, 1922, saw Sir David Graaff elected as President, forming the club's first committee comprising 8 members.

Located in a local park, the club's journey saw its two clay courts officially opened by Lady De Villiers-Graaff on November 18, 1922. These courts were meticulously tended to by a dedicated migrant worker who lived nearby in a room of a neighboring household.

In the mid-1960s, these clay courts underwent a transformation, paving the way for eight modern hard courts, including two equipped with floodlights, marking a significant evolution.

Today, Milnerton Tennis Club thrives as a vibrant center of activity. The club proudly supports Senior Men's and Ladies' League teams, actively competing in Western Province events. Tuesday and Thursday mornings are dedicated to social players, with evenings reserved for practice sessions for both social and league players. Saturdays are bustling with organised social tennis, welcoming players of all skill levels.
